Keiji and Kristen Iwai met when they each followed their passion for photography to the Southwest from Japan and New England, respectively. Working together at photographer Sue Bennett’s Flagstaff studio, friendship and then love bloomed between global travel for commercial clients like American Express and Nikon. Two decades, two children and countless photo shoots later, they still love working together every day, now in their own downtown Flagstaff studio. Specializing in portraiture of families, pregnancy, babies, children, high school seniors and for business, they try to make every photo shoot relaxing and fun for their subjects.
Kristen Dacey Iwai
Kristen has been making portraits for 25 years and absolutely LOVES her job. To learn about her start in photography, read her blog post the anniversary of a great decision. I want to make portraits that you and your descendants will treasure and I want it to be a great experience making them. My goal is to make you feel comfortable in front of my camera so you can be your best, authentic self. I hope to make timeless, genuine images that allow people to connect. We never say "cheese," we are goofy, we play. I love it when kids don't want to go home because they are having such a good time, or when adult subjects leave saying, "That was really fun!" .
