"It was like jumping onto a moving freight train.” While were making some fresh professional portraits, I’d asked Pam about becoming the new owner of the popular aromatherapy products store, Body Bliss in Cottonwood, AZ. She was scrambling to get up to speed to stay on top of all the amazing growth in her business. Instead of the usual synthetic yuckiness, Body Bliss products are made with natural and sustainable botanical raw materials and can be found at some of the finest spas around the country. The company was originated by a botanist and a massage therapist, looking to create healthier supplies for massage therapists to use day in and day out. It's a product line that is near and dear to Pam's heart and she loves her fun, demanding job.
Beyond what I originally thought of as aromatherapy products (like essential oils), Body Bliss offers a huge variety of delicious sounding goodies like "I RENEW Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Foot Soak”, "Chai Spice & Vanilla Virgin Coconut Body Polish”, and "Pink Grapefruit & Jasmine Cleansing Cream.” I get hungry just reading their titles! Personally, I'm in love with the Organic Lavender & Vetiver Body Lotion and am kind of wondering how I lived without it all these years! You can purchase online, so go get something yummy for yourself or a lucky loved one: Body Bliss website

I read the information with that sinking feeling you get when something lands on your desk that you would vehemently prefer to avoid. Google was changing its search engine rules and soon my blog would essentially be invisible online. People searching for a northern Arizona photographer orportraits in Flagstaffwouldn't be able to find me and my blog. I needed expert help because it was way above my skill set and let's be honest, "vintage" is not cool when it comes to internet-based technology.
My friend Drake Louks knew exactly what to do, of course. He basically gave this dusty old blog a renovation and here it is now, running smoothly, looking refreshed. I am so grateful to Drake but I'll admit... I'm also feeling a tiny bit proud of myself! He really empowered me to learn how to manage a lot of the behind-the-scenes technical stuff myself too. I'm astonished that I'm actually having fun with it now. Thanks, Drake! If you want to take advantage of Drake's mad IT skills, get in touch with him yourself at Arizona Tech Advisors.
Drake with his right hand dog, Carl - the sweetest, most patient dog ever. Carl is wonderful, except for the recent skunking, which I'm happy report I wasn't subjected to when I photographed him.
We recently made this portrait of the staff at Mother Road Brewing. If you haven't been to their establishment, you should check it out, especially if you are a fan of craft beer. They sell bottles to take home or you can enjoy their products with a Fratelli pizza, all in the room where they brew the beer. It's quite the experience. As you can tell from their clothes, this local, family-owned Flagstaff business celebrates Route 66, dubbed the 'Mother Road' by John Steinbeck in the 1930's.
